I’ve always admired Kashmir crewelwork. Viny ropes on an unbleached cotton backdrop. The linear tableaux, while appearing somewhat elementary, are sophisticated and vivid designs. These pieces have a spectacular tactile quality and delicate curviness that I find are uniquely possible in this form of embroidery.
