Louisa Harding

I saw the pile of thin, speckled hanks of Willow Tweed by Louisa Harding and I had to have some. The Cumin colorway called to me—I don’t want to say mauve, but it is sort of mauve. Not a color I ever reach for, but I’m stepping out of my safe zone and trying something different. Besides, this yarn looks particularly delicious in mauve.

I’m forcing myself to knit something that will take more than a day to complete, and I’ve decided on the cardigan “Saturday” from the Louisa Harding book Blue Monday. This book, along with others by her, is filled with designs that I would love to knit and wear. I even love the aesthetic of the photographs in her books. I believe I have found my favorite knitwear designer.

This is one of my “grown-up knitting” projects — that is, projects that take more than a few days to complete.

So this is what I did this morning to an old @coach shopper I found at the back of my closet. Kind of cute, right?
