deathpillow:

Looks like J. Crew needs a lesson in gender studies. General gender normativity abound. I don’t really expect J. Crew to be a bastion of liberal thought, but damn this is pretty bad.

Women can be: personal assistants, book-club friends, yoga instructors, and manicurists.

Men can be: cubicle mates, dog walkers, landscapers, and accountants.

Other good parts:

1/ The “dog walker” and “grandson” have the same shoes. I guess dog walking runs in the family?

2/ As my wife pointed out, the “wife” gets some duck boots (fashionable, yes, but not exactly flattering) while the “girlfriend” gets some slinky sequined shirt and notebook. I guess once you get married and give your dowry, you should be cloistered and shovel snow. Likewise, the “hubby” is portrayed as a lazy oaf (yet again).

I got this in the mail and laughed at the same things. Hubby gets PJs for Christmas, and hearts are for girls.
