Almost finished with my Bunny Hop slippers. They’re just missing buttons and sweet little faces. I’m also going to sew on leather soles.
The size small in the pattern was too large for my foot, so I shortened the sole by a few rows and only did the first increase. As a result, I had to modify the rest of the pattern. You can’t take these patterns too seriously! I used Valley...

The macaron is one of my favorite things in life.
The colorful little sandwich with its crunchy crumbly almond crust that melts in the mouth.
The first bite disintegrates the delicate composition of the treat, and the macaron shatters.
One is tempted to consume the entire thing in one bite so a crumb is not missed, but it is so savory…so special that it must be eaten slowly. Atom by...
For anyone uncertain about how much to charge for knitted items, I have found that many knitters calculate labor charges by the yard. This can start at two cents per yard, so the total price of a garment would be:
(price of yarn) + (two cents per yard)
If you used a 200-yard skein that cost ten dollars:
($10.00 for yarn) + ($0.02 * 200 yards) = $10.00 + $4.00 = $14.00

As someone who knits
I am unable to be idle - it’s a waste of precious knitting time to be sitting somewhere without a project. I’m certain you can empathize. But is there ever a situation in which knitting is out of the question?
Situations in which I wanted to knit but thought it was too weird so I didn’t:
At a Nationals game
In class
Scooter riding
At a party
Standing in line
What do you...

I LOVE GRANNY SQUARES.
I genuinely love them. When I see them I am overcome with a feeling of happiness, I want them with me all the time, I can’t stop thinking about them, in order to have them I will do something crazy.
Like surpass my inability to crochet.
But come on guys and gals, can’t we come up with a way to knit them?
An afternoon of knitting can burn more than 500... →
No, the author does not provide any support to this claim. No, I am not inclined to believe that there is a significant difference between the number of calories burned while sitting and the number of calories burned while knitting. Nonetheless, I will say this is my kind of exercise.

I’m borrowing a waffle stitch pattern from the Syrup Pullover in the latest Interweave Knits. I’m unfamiliar with the techniques “K1-Below” and “K2tog-Below.” I solved the former because I found a guide, but am stumped on the latter and there is no help online. This is what I have inferred:
I think I’m doing it correctly, but if anyone has other ideas...

Took a day trip to Baltimore last week and “stumbled upon” LovelYarns, a Hampden yarn store easily found in front of the knitted tree.
Sue Caldwell loads the place with anything from Cascade Yarns to richly dyed handspun. I was happy to find some discounted Unger Driftwood yarn - the copyright on this yarn is older than me. Four skeins for ten dollars!
Ms. Caldwell gave me a tip...
